Blue Heron Dental Centre is a proud owner of one of the most contemporary models of the 3D image equipment Sirona Orthophos S 3D PAN that in combination with the Sidexis 4 Software. Your dentist Dr. Kabak can acquire high resolution 3D digital images of the structures in the facial area.
Dental CBCT systems are becoming increasingly popular due to a number of advantages. Here are just some of them:
- CBCT provides a 3 dimensional image of any structure at the facial area.
- Together with contemporary softwear your dentist will have information about thickness of the bone, fractures of teeth, a number of canals in the roots, a course of the nerves and blood vessels, a relation of the tooth roots and the air sinuses in the upper jaw, location of the foreig bodies, position of impacted teeth (implants, dental materials) and other information.
- CBCT images are helping to plan precise placement of implants and plan extraction of wisdom teeth
- With the help of our 3D scanner it is possible to analyse the position of your facial soft tissue in correspondence to hard structures( teeth, bone and surrounding structures). This information is helping to provide you with the most predictable result of treatment( implant placement, extensive restorations of your teeth, changes of the facial dimensions, planning orthodontic treatment).
Safety and well being of our patients is a highest priority of all our team. In Blue Heron Dental Centre we are following a Philosophy: use x-rays as much as needed, but as little as possible. There is no doubt that the clinical benefit of a medically appropriate X-ray imaging exam outweighs the small radiation risk. However, Dr. Kabak & Dr. Yurchuk make a strong effort to minimize this risk. When it comes to CBCT or any other x-rays we always make sure that the research area is as small as possible. We are compliant with Royal College of Dental Surgeons and follow the strict protocols related to radiologic examination. We monitor our equipment daily to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
